This Web site is an experiment, a first venture onto the World Wide Web. So please bear with us.

At the age 13 years old I got my first introduction to Northern Soul, like many others at the local youth club, yes it was that terrible record ‘Footsee’…! Following that I was a regular at the Nottingham club ‘Coleman’s’ in Maypole Yard, on Friday & Sunday nights, most evenings the place was packed . I am sure looking back people will remember how the condensation/sweat ran down the walls, and when sitting downstairs you could feel the room shake as the dancers moved to the latest stomper. Other venues like the Adelphi (Short Lived), the Brit, Nott’s Palais on a Monday & the weekend Alldayers were all regular haunts. I have collected records for over 30 Years now, but spent the last 2 years selling off the bulk of my collection. The collection remaining are the records that hold special memories or the ones I particularly enjoy. It is a mixed bag of 60s, 70s, Cross over & Modern tracks. I hope to introduce a few lesser known and well known records that have graced the Northern & Rare Soul scene over the past 30 Years or so, not the rarest of the rare, but musically interesting and deserving another listen. There will be a Top Ten where you vote records up or down. With a number of records bubbling under you can vote in.

I hope to update regularly…depending how much time permits.
